My Bike Locks + Accessories

As I’ve previously mentioned, I stand by the products that I recommend. People are always curious about which bike locks and accessories I use, so I thought I’d share this information with all of my readers!

Below are the locks and accessories that I use on a daily basis. I have never had a problem with any of these and could go on forever about how great these are.

Remember, every bike and bike owner is different. I selected locks and accessories that work for me and my bike. Just because I use these doesn’t mean they will be suitable for you and your bike.

However, If they are suitable for you and would work with your bike, I couldn’t recommend these any more!

The Bike Locks I Use

Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit Mini Unboxed

KRYPTONITE – NEW YORK FAHGETTABOUDIT MINI

If you’ve had a look around the site already, chances are you’ve seen this lock pop up in a few of my articles. I stand by this as the best bike lock on the market to date. It’s 18mm Max-Performance steel shackle put the Fahgettaboudit Mini on a level above the rest.

I use this lock on a daily basis to secure my bikes, both in public and at home and have never had an issue with it. I’d recommend this bike lock to anyone and everyone, it won’t disappoint.

ABUS – BORDO GRANIT XPlus 6500

I use the Bordo Granit XPlus 6500 as a backup for my Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit. This folding bike lock has a larger shackle than the Fahgettaboudit so allows for more locking space.

The Granit XPlus has an excellent (rattle-free) carry case that can be directly attached to your bike’s frame. If I’m travelling long distances, I tend to use this as it means I don’t have to take a rucksack with me to carry the lock.

Gold sold secure rated, precision engineering, fantastic carry case, what more could you ask for?!

The Accessories I Use

ABUS Steel Cable Cobra

ABUS Cobra Extension Cable

Extension cables come in handy if your bike lock is unable to secure the frame and wheels of your bicycle. I have had the ABUS Cobra for over 8 years now and it has proved to be really handy multiple times.

This extension cable is super lightweight, so can easily be stowed at the bottom of your rucksack. Remember, cables and extension cables could easily be cropped with bolt cutters. I use my extension cable to prevent chancers and opportunists attempting to quickly remove my bicycles components.

Tile Sticker bluetooth tracker

Tile Sticker Bluetooth Tracker

The Tile Sticker is the new and updated tracker from Tile. This small square may not look like much, but once attached it can track the location of your bike up to 150ft!

The Tile Sticker should not be confused with a GPS tracker, once your bike is over 150ft away you’ll no longer be able to track its movements. However, if you open the Tile app on your phone, you’ll be able to mark your tile as missing. If your bike was then to travel past another Tile user, a notification would be sent to your phone with the current location of the Tile and hopefully your bike! For the price, it’s a worthy investment.

Goose Premium Bicycle Cover

The Goose Premium Bicycle Waterproof Cover is easily the best bike cover out there. Many people try to skimp when it comes to bicycle covers, and I have done the exact same in the past. Two ripped covers later I realised that cheap bike covers are not worth it.

I searched for a few days before deciding on the Goose Premium Cover, and haven’t looked back since. This cover is made using the durable Oxford 210D fabric, mine still looks brand new! This cover has also saved my bike countless times from being exposed to the elements. Without a cover, you leave your bike exposed to dust, rain and scratches from others locking their bike clumsily near by.

Cover it up. Out of sight out of mind.

Torc ground anchor

Torc Ground Anchor

As approved by UK police, this is one of the best ground anchors that money can buy. Pragmasis the manufacturer of this bike lock pull all of the stops when it comes to bicycle security.

The Torc Anchor has received the Gold Sold Secure Rating for every single category (Bicycle, Motorbike, ATV, Car & Commercial) apart from caravan. There isn’t a ground anchor on the market that has the same levels of approval as this one.

If you’re securing your bike outside and your using a ground anchor its important to remember that your bike lock will only be as secure as the ground anchor it’s attached to.

Secure your bike properly.
